Star Wars: The Last Jedi Official Poster & Trailer Revealed

Star Wars: The Last Jedi‘s director, Rian Johnson, is seeing red as this newest poster is revealed just ahead of the much anticipated trailer for the film. In the trend that Hollywood’s graphic designers can’t seem to tear themselves away from, just about every character makes an appearance on this poster. Most notable on this latest version is Leia featured front and center as the rest of the characters surround her.

The previous poster, released back in April during the Star Wars Celebration event, was more minimal — though no less dramatic. It prominently displayed Rey triumphantly holding a lightsaber with Luke Skywalker and Kylo Ren on either side.

On Twitter during NYCC, Johnson was “torn” as to whether or not fans should watch the trailer. He teased that he was, “legitimately torn. If you want to come in clean, absolutely avoid it. But it’s gooooood…..” And he wasn’t wrong.

The full trailer packs a lot of information. From an encounter between Snoak and Rey, to Kylo less willing to kill his mother than he was to kill his father, Luke’s reluctance to be a mentor like Yoda, to finally hearing a Porg “speak.” All the familiar faces from The Force Awakens are back in action in this trailer, and everything looks like it’s happening on a larger scale.

Finn looks to have recovered from his injuries and is once again face to face with Captain Phasma while Poe is back where he belongs, leading the charge at the head of an X-wing squadron.

Advance tickets are on sale now, so be sure to check with your local theater.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits theaters December 15th.
