Lit to Film: Divergent Franchise Will be Four Films

Nerdist reports that the film franchise adaptation of the Divergent YA trilogy will be four movies. Insurgent, set for a 2015 release, will be followed by Allegiant Part One in 2016, and Allegiant Part Two in 2017.

Not surprising, really, based on the history of other YA franchises such as Twilight and The Hunger Games. The ploy is undoubtedly to contribute to (even more) revenue for the highly-acclaimed Divergent series. Regardless of how you look at it, fans will get more of Divergent, so there’s the upside, if you can stand the wait.

I assume die-hard fans of the series will fight over the timeline and where Allegiant should get “split”, which is why we have a comments section!
