The Friday Fiver: Our Marvel NOW! Wish List

Marvel NOW! has exceeded all expectations, and back in May, we counted down our Top 5  Marvel NOW titles. Rumour is there’s a second wave of Marvel NOW! titles on the horizon.  GeeksUnleashed have their collective fingers crossed that these titles will make up the second wave as we count down our Top 5 Marvel NOW! Wish List.

5. The Punisher

There are so many classic interpretations of The Punisher, Rucka’s recent work was amazing, whilst Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon’s run was a highlight of my teenage years (and beyond, if I’m honest). I’d love to see a new, dark and gritty Punisher book, with no traces of superheroes. A lone man and his guns. Written by Duane Swierczynski, drawn by Gabriel Hardman.

4. Moon Knight

Despite the dream team of Alex Maleev and Brian Michael Bendis (and before that Charlie Hudson and David Finch), Moon Knight titles never seem to last. One written and drawn by Sean Gordon Murphy however would be a smash hit. Mark and I chatted about this recently and he’d like to see Matt Hawkins and Stjepan Sejic take on the Moon Knight after their amazing Aphrodite IX  relaunch – either way I’m happy!

3. Runaways

The creations of Brian K. Vaughan are currently embroiled in the surprise hit which is Avengers Arena, however, a return to their own series, written by Matt Fraction would be a dream for the GU crew, particularly if drawn by Mike Allred.

2. Generation X

This one is all Mark and he wants the old gang back together – Scott Lobdell and Chris Bachalo. Personally I’d like to see Emanuela Lupacchino on an X-Team book again. Another X-Men title seems unlikely though.

1. Alias

I’d love to see Kathryn Immonen tackle this character, perhaps with Rashan Ekedal on art. Rumour is Marvel are still working on a Jessica Jones TV series, therefore the shelves of your LCS need a title. Mark favoured Andy Diggle and Jock, which is an incredible call.

Any chance Marvel?
